Zoë Osanna
Zoë is a Song carrier, a Storyteller, and a radiate source of joy, complements this sacred partnership. Her presence is a balm for the soul, with her laugh often heard from a mile away.
A Mestiza woman from Venezuelan and South African decent, Zoë was born in Canada, on Anishinaabe Territory and raised on the islands of the Philippines. Her name translates to "A Blessed Life,"
Zoë's path into traditional healing was sparked during a family crisis that threatened to extinguish her own spirit. It served as the catalyst that guided her toward the Sundance. She was looking for a miracle…. She had no idea how many more where to come.
Guided by mentors and elders, she delved deep into the ancient wisdom of ceremony, planting her feet deep. A decade later, the spirits urged her to journey South to the traditional territory of her Wayuu ancestors, where she was activated to the Southern Temples.
Becoming a mother has strengthened her conviction to the ceremonial road. From hiking mountain peaks to making offerings from coast to coast with her children on her back, she carries the weight of tradition alongside the practicalities of everyday life… some days more gracefully than others.
When Zoë and Aztekoyotl decided to walk hand in hand, they knew that both of their lives would dramatically change forever. That their love was more than just their own, their assignment was to bridge traditions between the North and South. Five years later, and many decades ahead, they find ways to laugh at one another ,and the silliness and simultaneous beauty of life itself.
Santos
Santos - Seriakhame- is a traditional Marakame in the Wixaritari tradition, he is a recognized elder, revered for his profound healing abilities. As one of the esteemed "high" healers within his community, other Marakames and community members frequently seek his counsel and guidance, recognizing the depth of his knowledge and the potency of his medicine.
Following the passing of his mother five years ago, Santos received a message from Kayumari urging him to share his medicine and teachings beyond his community. This moment led to the connection with Aztekoyotl and Zoe when they began working together.
Santos has a playful rebellious spirit, while carrying a deep reverence for the medicine. He reminds us to laugh at the intricacies of existence and not take ourselves too seriously. He is usually found sipping a bottle of coca cola (the colder the better)
Santos has long dreamed of exploring the world, and last year, he achieved a significant milestone by obtaining his passport for the first time. This was no small feat, as he had to navigate the complexities of proving his existence without a birth certificate, a challenge faced by many Indigenous peoples. Undeterred by bureaucratic obstacles, Santos was fueled by his burning desire to fulfill his vision. Since then, he has travelled to France, Spain, Peru, and Colombia, sharing the teachings of unity and healing. Santos's passport isn't just a travel document; it's a symbol of his commitment to bridging cultures, spreading knowledge, and promoting understanding worldwide.
Julio Oso
When Julio plays the drum, it's as if the very rhythm of the earth pulses through him. Each beat is a prayer, each note a testament to the healing power of music. Those who listen find themselves moved to dance, their souls stirred by the ancient melodies that flow from his fingertips.
His journey to finding his voice was not easy. He struggled to learn how to build a water drum and no one around would teach him. It was only when he asked the Spirits for guidance, to be used as an instrument of prayer, that everything changed. Julio believes it was in that moment that his voice became more than just his own—it became a channel for something greater, a conduit for spirit to express itself.
Although young, Julio has been a community leader for the past decade. Offering a space to pray for those from all walks of life. Beyond his ceremonial roles, Julio is an artisan, infusing his creations with the soulful essence of who he is. His commitment extends to family life, as a devoted husband, uncle, and community member
